The Helen Newberry Joy Hospital Board of Directors has selected Hunter Nostrant, CMA, CHFP, CSBI as its new Chief Executive Officer. Nostrant is a familiar face at HNJH having been Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer since 2015.

As COO/CFO, Hunter has brought a strong work ethic and forward-thinking strategy to the organization by initiating process improvement measures, renegotiating and negotiating contracts, enhancing internal controls, and optimizing reimbursement; having a significant impact on the hospital’s overall performance.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Hope College in Holland, MI and is nearing completion of a Master’s Degree in Health Administration.

“I am excited for the opportunity and grateful for the trust the Board of Directors has extended to me in furthering the success achieved by the hard work of HNJH staff. My wife, Whitley, and our children look forward to being more involved in the community,” said Nostrant.

“On behalf of the board of directors of Helen Newberry Joy Hospital, we are delighted in our decision to appoint Hunter as Chief Executive Officer of HNJH,” said Nathan Neeb, Board Chairman. “Mr. Nostrant has done an exceptional job as COO and CFO.  We are confident that the entire community will benefit from having him at the helm of our hospital.”

Nostrant will begin his new role on September 30, taking the place of Scott Pillion, who was recently named Vice President of Finance and Controller for the Michigan Health & Hospital Association (MHA) headquartered in Okemos, Michigan. HNJH will begin actively recruiting for a CFO.

Nostrant is married with two children, Bryton, 8, and Brielle, 4.
